Hoeve Weltevreden is an accommodation that is neither too big nor too small. Fully equipped, it offers a certain feeling of freedom. We create the balance between having the feeling of being on holiday and coming home.
Hoeve Weltevreden has a long history. The building dates from 1672 and was originally a farm. It has had various functions over the years. In 1874 the farmhouse was completely rebuilt. The farm is now an important piece of heritage and is seen as an example of the traditional Texel farm.
Unfortunately, it is not known by whom and when the name came about. During restoration, the style was so well maintained that it certainly deserves the name “Weltevreden”.
The farm is located in a beautiful nature reserve, surrounded by meadows, dunes and the Texel polder landscape. It is an ideal location for walks and bike rides. The B&B is located on the edge of the Westermient. The De Dennen nature reserve is within walking/cycling distance.This is the largest part of the Texel forest, planted by the Forestry Commission in the early 20th century.
The construction of the forest has enriched Texel with a varied nature and many new species of breeding birds. In autumn, De Dennen are rich in mushrooms. Today, De Mient, which is located in the middle of the forest area, is an important part of the Dunes of Texel National Park.
You can go out on your own or join an excursion. You can regularly join the forester of Staatsbosbeheer on an adventure.
